Scott L. Jackson

S. L. Jackson & Associates, LLC was founded in 2003 and is operated by Scott L. Jackson, a retired supervisory federal agent with over 35 years of criminal and national security investigative experience.  Mr. Jackson retired in 2003 from the Department of Defense's Criminal Investigative Service where he investigated criminal and national security matters involving the worldwide operations of the Department of Defense.

Mr. Jackson  is a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Center's Criminal Investigation School, Computer Fraud Program and International Banking & Money Laundering Program.  In response to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center, Mr. Jackson conceived a proactive initiative to identify internal and external security vulnerabilities of major Defense Department installations and contractor facilities with critical operations throughout the United States.  In part, as a result of this initiative, the Department's Inspector General awarded him the Distinguished Civilian Service Award, which is the highest honor bestowed upon a civilian by the Department of Defense.  Mr. Jackson had previously been awarded the Superior Civilian Service Award for coordinating the international investigative operations into the allegations of sexual assaults and related misconduct at the 1991 Tailhook Convention of Naval Aviators in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Since its inception S.L. Jackson & Associates, LLC has focused its efforts on conducting thorough and timely due diligence inquiries and specialized background investigations.  One of the company's earliest clients was the U.S. State Department for whom it conducted personnel security investigations (background investigations) for sensitive positions within the department.  Examples of recent findings resulting from due diligence inquiries or background investigations are that of a Chief Executive Officer who lied about graduating from an Ivy League university, a company Vice-President who misrepresented earning a graduate degree, a Chief Financial Officer who was sued for breaching two personal money market loan agreements totaling $125,000, a Controller who lied about earning a graduate degree and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and an Administrative Assistant to a CEO who lied about earning a graduate degree.   S.L. Jackson & Associates, LLC recently provided litigation support to a human-trafficking civil case filed in federal court in Florida resulting in the four plaintiffs being awarded $2.4 million in compensation.
